Rain is leading to grass growth in Wisconsin, which is helping business that have used tractors.
Many people have used tractors for mowing their own lawns. Others, meanwhile, do so as a part of their business.
For them, additional rainfall may come as a welcomed sign, as it can lead to an increase in the amount of interest they get in their services. A recent report from Wisconsin's WXOX noted that La Cross County has seen more precipitation lately, which is helping these businesses.
Take, for example, Jay McMichael, who owns a landscaping company. His used tractor has been out every week mowing lawns, rather than doing so once every other week, as he's used to.
"I don't mind it, obviously it is good for business, so I don't mind it," McMichael told the station.
However, Steve Huntzicker, an agriculture agent in the county, noted that additional precipitation can be a problem for farmers because it may keep them from their fields.
Such was the case last year, as rain delayed planting in parts of the country, including the Midwest. As a result, the harvest was delayed into the winter, making it difficult on farmers.
