California man has mobile business that sharpens blades on used tractors

Thursday, July 29, 2010

News Article Photo Along with knives, a man in California is offering to sharpen blades on used tractors.

Having sharp blades on a used tractor can lead to a better lawn, and residents in one California town can have their machines cared for with a simple phone call.

According to the Willits News, retired construction worker Keith Rosen has started a blade-sharpening business in the area. He's available to take care of edges seven days a week, and his expertise includes taking care of cutters on tractors or kitchen knives.

"It's really nice to work with sharp tools," Rosen told the paper. "Sharpening good quality knives will help keep them easier to sharpen on a daily basis, and will help hold the edge longer."

Rosen uses a van to get to his customers, and doesn't charge a travel fee for those who live near Willits. However, people who live in certain areas may be asked to cover his costs for gas.

Having a sharp blade on a mower can help make sure grass isn't torn out of the ground, which can lead to brown spots. A clean cut also helps the health of a lawn.ADNFCR-2034-ID-19913553-ADNFCR
